Hospital discharges

Whether discharged from a hospital or a facility, Jolly Transport will bring you to your home, new facility or to our local airports: West Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) or Fort Lauderdale International (FLL).

Ask to receive a Discharge Certificate. As our appreciation for using our services, you are entitled to a $5.00 of your next ride with us.

Hospital discharges involve many different people and departments. A typical discharge goes in the following manner: the doctor informs the case manager that the patient is ready for discharge; if discharged home, the case manager ensures that care and equipment is available at home; the case manager coordinates the transportation (Jolly Transport); and communicates the discharge to the patient’s nurse; the doctor signs the discharge paperwork; the nurse prepares the discharge packet for the patient, and finally, Jolly Transport arrives at the patient’s room at the pre-arranged time.

A lot of coordination has to happen for a seamless discharge. To ensure a timely pickup, we call to coordinate between the hospital case manager, patients family representative or the patient themselves to avoid lengthy delays. At times, the doctor will order a last minute test incurring excessive delays or reschedule the discharge to another day. Jolly Transport will arrive at the pre-arranged time. To avoid wait time or no-show fees, please communicate with us as soon as possible.
